ICF & Concrete Specialists

Benefits of ICF

Built stronger.

Insulated Concrete Forms (ICF) combine reinforced concrete and continuous EPS insulation in a single wall, so strength, energy performance and comfort are built in from the foundation up.

ICF

Insulated Concrete Forms — EPS foam, steel and concrete

Overview

Why homeowners, developers and builders choose ICF.

Insulated Concrete Forms (ICF) are interlocking EPS foam forms that are stacked, reinforced with steel and filled with concrete. The foam stays in place as permanent insulation on both faces of the wall, so structure and insulation go up in a single step.
ICF is our primary specialty. The benefits below are what the system delivers on real projects, from foundations to above-grade walls.

Where ICF is used

The ICF Advantage

Built into every wall.

01

Superior strength

Steel-reinforced concrete resists impact, wind and time.

02

High wind resistance

A continuous reinforced wall stands up to high winds.

03

Fire resistance

Concrete does not burn, and ICF walls are tested and fire rated.

04

Continuous insulation

EPS foam on both faces insulates the full wall.

05

Energy performance

An airtight, insulated wall cuts heat loss and energy use.

06

Quieter interiors

Mass concrete dampens outside noise.

07

Mold resistant

Concrete and EPS give mold nothing to feed on.

08

Durable construction

No rot, no pests, minimal long-term maintenance.

What to Expect

How an ICF wall goes up.

01

Forms stacked

Interlocking EPS foam forms are stacked course by course, with openings framed for doors and windows.

02

Reinforced and braced

Steel rebar is placed and the walls are braced and aligned before any concrete goes in.

03

Concrete placed

Concrete is placed in lifts and consolidated to fill the core as one continuous wall.

04

Ready to finish

The EPS stays in place as permanent insulation, ready for interior and exterior finishes.
